Glen rode her orgasm with her until the stars stopped spinning and simply sparkled in the sky.
“Good Lord, woman.”
“Loud? Sorry . . .” She wasn’t. Sorry . . . she wasn’t sorry.
Glen smiled up at her as he clasped her hips and tugged her farther down on the couch. “Now that we have the first one out of the way . . .”
“Someone needs to get naked.” She leaned over and pushed her hands in the waistband of his pants and found his erection.
He leaned his head against hers and pushed into her hands.
Mary tried to wiggle out from under him. “Let me,” she said as they changed positions.
Glen stood long enough to remove everything. His erection invited her to touch. So she did.
He’d freed his wallet before his pants hit the ground and flipped it open.
Mary took the condom from him and tore the wrapper open. She pushed him onto his back and in two strokes had him covered.
She liked this part. Where her body said, yes, please, can we do that again, only this time with more depth?
Mary kissed her way up his chest, lingered on the throbbing pulse of his neck, before reaching for his lips.
Glen lifted her hips and placed her over his erection.
She moaned, broke from his kiss. “Please,” she whispered.
He pushed forward, slowly. His guttural sigh told her how much he enjoyed the feeling as he sank into her.
She kissed him while they found their pace. With the edge off, she could go farther. When she felt him pushing harder, she shifted position and took him deeper. Glen’s palms grasped her breasts as if they controlled everything.
Mary clenched every muscle she had and heard Glen respond with an expletive.
She wanted to cuss herself. Instead, she tightened and took everything he wanted to give. And when she knew he was close, could tell from how tight he held his breath, how stern his jaw clenched, she brought her hands to his, which held her breasts and squeezed. He took her hint and pinched her nipples . . . and Mary found her release.
Glen had no choice but to follow.
She collapsed on top of him, her breath a rapid fire in his ear. This was not the woman he’d expected.
“We didn’t make it to a bed.” Mary giggled as she spoke.
“I’m surprised we made it to the couch.”
She lifted her head and smiled down at him. He kept one arm around her waist and pushed some of the hair that had escaped the clip out of her eyes. “That was . . .”
“It sure was!” Mary’s smile reminded him of the sweet woman he’d been dating, the body squirming on top of him reminded him of every fantasy he’d ever had rolled into one. “I was too loud.”
“Never.”
“We’re in a hotel, people could have heard me.”
“Who cares? Besides, I liked it.” Loved it! Wanted to record it and listen to it repeatedly!
Her cheeks started to warm. “I don’t have a lot of control.”
“I noticed.” He traced one of her cheeks with the pad of his thumb. “Why didn’t you tell me you were fire in bed?”
She did a little eye roll and made herself more comfortable. “How would I have brought that up in casual conversation?”
“Oh, I don’t know . . . ‘Hey, Glen, I’m a wildcat in between the sheets. Prepare to have your mind blown.’ That would work.”
Mary squeezed her eyes shut. “Wildcat and mind-blowing are not words I’d use.”
He slid one hand over her ass and gripped it until she opened her eyes. “I would,” he said.
“Well, then . . .” She straightened her back, their bodies still intimately close. “It may take a little time to get me here, but once I am, I enjoy it.”
“It?” he teased with a shift of his hips.
Her eyes widened. “Sex. I enjoy sex.”
So did he, but this felt like more. “I think this is going to work out very well for both of us then.”
Mary released the clip from her hair and let her curls roll over her shoulder. “I hope you’re not tired.”
“Never.”
They didn’t get out of the hotel room until afternoon the next day. Housekeeping would probably weep when they saw the suite, and the guests on either side would probably ask to switch rooms.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Mary didn’t care. She was sore and relaxed at the same time. They left the hotel in search of food, both of them wearing grins the size of Texas.
The cold wind zapped her the second they stepped out of the hotel.
“I thought it would be warmer.”
Glen signaled for a cab instead of taking the slow route. “We need to get you a coat.”
“I brought a sweater.”
Glen kissed her temple before opening the back door of the car. “That’s cute.”
They got out a few blocks later at Saks.
Mary couldn’t remember if she’d ever walked into the department store, let alone bought anything there.
A doorman welcomed them inside and several painted-on faces smiled at them as they passed the cosmetic counters. An elevator took them to the desired floor where plenty of warm coats filled the racks.
Glen went straight to a designer label and removed a three-quarter-length wool coat. “Try this.”
She didn’t see a price tag but slid her arms into it anyway. “It’s heavy.”
He winked. “You’re in New York.”
Mary faced the mirror and did a little turn. How often would she wear it? One look at Glen and she hoped it would be often.
