“I promised before that I wouldn’t start something I couldn’t finish. Now...open the door.”
What? I quickly put my clothes back on and walked to the door with the phone in my ear. “Are you serious? You’re not here, are you?” I looked through the peephole. Oh my God! Before I could swing the door all the way open, Matthew reached for me. With my back against the wall, his lips conquered mine so hard you would think he hadn’t seen me in months. Yet, I didn’t mind. I missed him just as much.
“Matthew...how...when?” I could barely get my words out. He was devouring me like crazy. His hands slipped into my PJ bottoms, feeling me everywhere he could touch. He suddenly stopped, breathing heavily against my neck.
After we both caught our breaths, Matthew cupped my face. “I assume everyone is asleep?”
“Yes.”
“Come with me.”
“Where?”
“Next door.”
“Next door? You mean you got a room right next door?” I started laughing.
“Max did, so I followed suit.” With a shrug of his shoulders, he gave me the most adorable, boyish grin...the kind I just wanted to suck off his face.
Without a word, because I expected him to finish what he’d started, I let him grab my hand and lead me to his suite. When we got there, Max was standing by the door with his arms crossed. He was in jeans and T-shirt, just like Matthew. They both looked young and playful in their casual outfits, but as devilishly handsome as always.
“What took you so long?” Max asked shyly. He looked so guilty. It was funny to see these grown men act like children. “Hi, Becky. Surprise.” He flashed an innocent smile. “Matthew’s idea,” he said, then took off to Jenna.
It was funny how they blamed each other. I had to laugh at that. I didn’t really care whose idea it was; I was just ecstatic to see Matthew. Jenna was going to be really surprised in the morning.
“Wait. He doesn’t have the key to our place,” I said, glancing over my shoulder to Max.
“The room is under our names, so we have a set of keys.” He wiggled his eyebrows at me.
“Was that your plan all along?” With pouty lips, I gave him a playful glare.
“Maybe...maybe not.” Matthew picked me up, anchored my legs around his hips, and started heading for his room. “Now, where were we before my brother rudely interrupted us?” Opening the door, he said with a wink, “Welcome to Las Vegas, Becca. What happens in Vegas continues when we get home.”

Since the curtains were drawn and it was dark, I didn’t know what time it was. All I knew was that I’d had a good night’s sleep. No one had bothered to wake me up, so I figured it was still early in the morning.
I didn’t know much about Becky’s sleeping habits, but she snuggled right next to me. Not wanting to wake her, and not wanting to be face to face with her, I decided not to roll over. She must have thought I was Matthew from the way her hand was resting on my hip. Trying to get out of the awkward situation, and needing a glass of water, I slowly moved my legs.
Wait a minute! Becky’s leg was hairy. She wore jeans last night so I couldn’t tell, but holy Jesus. Wait! Something wasn’t right. It was too hairy.
I stiffened when I heard a manly groan sound and felt the puff of air on my neck. Oh my God! That was not Becky. Remembering back to last night, I realized hadn’t done anything. I was the one that went to bed first. Going into panic mode, I contemplated what to do as my heart thumped erratically. Should I scream?
I glanced down and saw that I was fully clothed. Thank God! Without looking to see who was lying next to me—because I was deathly afraid to—I pushed whomever was beside me and jumped off the bed. It happened quickly, but my reflexes were a bit slow. When he grabbed me, I screamed bloody murder...so loud that Nicole and Kate barged through the door.
“Jenna, it’s me, Max,” he said, covering my mouth. We were both seated upright.
“Max?” I turned, my breath heaving and still scared out of my mind. “What are you doing here?” My eyes were pooled with frightened tears as I looked at Nicole and Kate. They both had their hands on their chests, right above their heart, gaping from Max to me.
“Max?” Nicole looked confused.
“Max?” Kate repeated, seeming just as flabbergasted.
“Sorry. Everything is fine. I scared Jenna. I won’t be staying. I didn’t come to crash the party,” Max rambled until Nicole and Kate left the room with smiles.
Max held me tightly, caressing my hair and face. “I’m so sorry, babe. I didn’t mean to scare you like that. I wanted to surprise you.” Max’s chest vibrated against mine when I heard him release a small chuckle.
“You think this is funny.” I pulled away, and tried to hide a smile. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”
“I wouldn’t mind doing CPR on you. It will be my pleasure.”
I lightly socked him. “I bet you wouldn’t mind. Where’s Becky?”
Max bit his bottom lip with a smirk, giving me a mischievous grin. He wouldn’t answer until I narrowed my eyes at him. “Next door.”
“Next door?” My pitch reached its limit. “You were planning to come here all this time and you didn’t tell me?”
Max didn’t answer. Instead, he dove in for a long, lingering, ‘pulling out my bottom lip with his teeth’ kind of kiss. “Jenna, I missed you.”
