Travis sat up straighter in his chair. “She couldn’t have,” he said in a low voice.
A model skipped out in a plush white faux-fur coat. She turned her back to the crowd as the word warm slammed onto the screens. Furry red letters were laid across her back over the picture of an igloo.
“I need to find her,” Travis said, but Luke pulled him back down to the chair when he tried to get up.
“Just a little longer,” Luke said.
Too stunned to argue, Travis sat back against the chair.
Sexy Lily.
Passionate Lily.
Irresistible Lily.
Sweet Lily.
Warm Lily.
She had finally figured it out. And she had done all of this for him. He thought he’d never love her more than he already did at that moment. But he already knew he was wrong. He was going to love her more every single day for the rest of their lives.
The models cleared the stage, and a hush fell over the audience. Finally, a gorgeous redhead with big blue eyes emerged from behind the curtain.
IN LOVE.
Travis couldn’t have stopped the grin that stole across his face even if he’d wanted to. He watched the woman he loved walk down the runway, slowly and sensually. His eyes never left hers as the previous models danced back onto the runway.
And then she was running down the steps, and he was pushing past the row of chairs in front of him, and she was in his arms.
“I love you Travis. And I’m sorry. For everything.”
Travis took her lips in a fiery kiss. “Don’t you ever apologize to me again,” he growled.
She stared openmouthed at him in surprise, then threw her head back and laughed. “Never again,” she promised.
This time he took her lips gently, overwhelmed by the love he felt for this woman. “And never leave me,”
he said, not caring for once how pathetic or needy he sounded.
“Never,” she said softly, as one lone tear fell down her cheek. With a sassy grin, she added, “That’s not the kind of woman I am.”
Travis hugged her to him and laughed with joy. Thank God they had both finally found out who the real Lily was, because Travis could no longer imagine a life without her by his side.
